Event Information: The Better Business Bureau of Central Virginia, partnering with IRS Stakeholder Liaison, is offering a workshop for businesses on the topic of independent contractor vs. employee (worker classification). The workshop will be taught by a practicing CPA from the Fredericksburg area familiar with this important issue. Understanding how to properly classify workers, as well as understanding the business' responsibilities according to each classification, will help prevent unexpected costs to the business. Information from the IRS on this topic will be distributed, including Publication 1779 and Section 530 Relief. Questions and answers will be handled by the CPA during and after the workshop.
