Tax Form packages commonly used by exempt organizations are now available electronically for download. Around February 24 these packages will be mailed to exempt organizations meeting certain requirements. Soon after this mailing, the packages will be available in IRS walk-in centers.

3.  IRS Announces 2006 “Dirty Dozen” Tax Scams

The 2006 “Dirty Dozen”, an annual listing of the most notorious tax scams, has been issued along with an alert to taxpayers to watch out for schemes that promise to reduce or eliminate taxes. Two exempt organizations-related schemes remain on the list: Credit Counseling Agencies and Abuse of Charitable Organizations and Deductions.
