1.  Registration Opens for EO Tax Law Workshops

Registration is now open for the IRS Workshops for Small and Mid-Sized Tax Exempt Organizations. Each day-long workshop begins with an overview of tax-exempt status, and continues with more in-depth discussions of activities that can jeopardize 501(c)(3) status, unrelated business income and gaming, employment issues for charities and nonprofits, recordkeeping and disclosures, and an overview of the Form 990 Information Return.

 
Workshops will be offered in New York City, Oklahoma City, Miami, Portland,OR, Phoenix, and Milwaukee beginning in April 2006. The cost of the workshop is $35 per participant, which includes all books and reference materials. Space is limited. Filing Deadlines for Exempt Political Organizations

The IRS has posted on IRS.gov the 2006 filing dates for 527 political organizations that file Form 8872.
