A new page reorganizes and expands the available information about credit counseling organizations:
Resources for consumers and the general public about the credit counseling industry were recently posted on irs.gov.
New tax law provisions affecting credit counseling organizations were included in the The Pension Protection Act of 2006. Questions and answers on these provisions have been issued.

The website page on the process of checking on the status of exemption applications has a new chart illustrating the exemption determination process.
3. New Appraisal Requirements
The IRS has issued transitional guidance on the new definitions of qualified appraisal and qualified appraisers.
4. Reminder to Charities to Avoid Certain Activities During Election Season
The Internal Revenue Service reminds charities to avoid becoming involved in political campaign activities.
5. e-File News and Reminder for New e-Filing Requirements
