1. FY 2006 Implementing Guidelines
The FY 2006 implementing guidelines, posted on the EO website, report on accomplishments during fiscal year 2005 and describe EO’s program plan for the upcoming year.
2. Life Cycle of a Private Foundation
The new Life Cycle of a Private Foundation website on irs.gov provides links to helpful information about points of intersection between private foundations and the IRS, including access to explanatory information and forms that an organization may need to file with the IRS.
3. Conservation Easements
In a recent speech, Steven T. Miller, Commissioner, Tax Exempt and Government Entities, outlined (1) forthcoming guidance on easements, (2) the design and implementation of a comprehensive compliance program, and (3) the IRS emphasis on appraisal abuses relating to conservation easements.
4. e-File News
Stylesheets used to display exempt organizations returns for Tax Year 2004 have been posted to the IRS website. The website provides suggestions for software developers, states, and taxpayers to incorporate these stylesheets into their programs.

5. ACT Vacancy Announcement
The Internal Revenue Service is seeking applications for vacancies on the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT). The committee provides a venue for public input into critical tax administration areas. The application form is posted on the IRS website .
