1. Workshops for Small and Mid-Sized 501(c)(3) Organizations
IRS Exempt Organizations is offering a one day workshop for section 501(c)(3) exempt organizations in three cities later this year. Each workshop will explain what 501(c)(3) organizations must do to keep their tax-exempt status and comply with tax obligations. Preregistration is required.
2. Determinations Guide Sheets for Section 509(a)(3) Organizations
New guidelines (listed in the section on Supporting Organizations) for processing requests for foundation status classification under Code section 509(a)(3) are available. These guidelines supersede a directive suspending issuance of determination letters in certain cases.
3. Western Conference on Tax Exempt Organizations
The annual Western Conference on Tax Exempt Organizations will be held on November 15-16, 2007, in Los Angeles, California. Early bird registration closes October 15, 2007.
4. Comments on Draft Redesigned Form 990
Comments received on the draft redesigned Form 990 have been posted to the IRS website.
