Self-Dealing by Private Foundations: Transitional Rules

Transitional rules provide special treatment for certain transactions predating the enactment of the self-dealing excise taxes in 1969. The transitional rules include the following:

  • Use of property in which a private foundation and disqualified person acquired joint or common interests before October 9, 1969
  • Certain transactions involving securities acquired by a foundation before May 27, 1969
