Be a Partner for Tax Assistance to the Disabled Community
The IRS office of Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication has a focused effort to reach working taxpayers with disabilities. The goal is to provide an ecomonic impact by educating this population about specific tax credits and deductions, free tax preparation and asset-building strategies that are available to them.
SPEC is reaching out to the disabled community through local and national partnerships with disability organizations. National and community partnerships are key to strategic implementation. By working together, IRS and other groups can deliver financial education and tax preparation services to low income persons with disabilities nationwide.
The strategy is to combine three components that support a family’s success: awareness and education, tax preparation assistance, and financial assistance. Our three-pronged approach relates easily to the missions of other organizations and lends itself well to partnering.
