  • Form 1040EZ is used only to report income form wages, salaries, tips, qualified tuition program earnings, Alaska Permanent Fund dividends, taxable scholarships and fellowship grants, interest of $1,500 or less, and unemployment compensation

  • Form 1040A can be used to report all Form 1040EZ items, plus income from interest, dividends, and capital gain distributions

  • Form 1040A, Schedule 1, or Form 1040, Schedule B, is used to report

    • Interest and/or dividend income over $1,500, and

    • Interest from Series I and/or Series EE savings bonds issued after 1989 that is excluded from taxable income
