Business Mileage

Standard mileage rate for business use of a vehicle in 2008 is 50.5 cents per mile from January 1 through June 31; and 58.5 cents per mile from July 1 through December 31.

To use the standard mileage rate, multiply the taxpayer's number of business miles by the appropriate rate ($0.505 or $0.585) to determine the deductible driving expenses to include in the total business expenses reported on Schedule C-EZ.
