For taxpayers who want their overpayment refunded to them:

• Advise that a check is usually mailed within 6-8 weeks after the return is filed, although e-filing will speed up the refund process
  
  
• Inform them of the option to have the refund deposited directly into a financial account, which will usually result in receiving the refund more quickly
  
  
• Advise that e-filing will usually speed up the refund process
