The goal of the tax assistance program is to provide high-quality service. Every site must conduct quality reviews. Properly reviewed returns will help prevent taxpayers from receiving an error notice from the IRS.
- Larger sites may have an experienced, designated quality reviewer
- Small sites may allow the preparers to review each other’s work using Form 8158, Quality Review Sheet, or an approved alternative form
- If no other reviewer is available, preparers should use the approved quality review sheet to review their own work
