Applying for AEIC

Employees who have at least one qualifying child for the next tax year and expect to qualify for the earned income credit (EIC), can choose to receive a portion of the credit in advance throughout the year by completing Form W-5, Earned Income Credit Advance Payment Certificate, and submitting it to their employer.

The employer will include the AEIC payments, up to $1,750, in the employee's regular paychecks during the year.
