The Volunteer Hotline is an excellent source of tax information. It is a toll-free hotline for Volunteer Return Preparer Process (VRPP) volunteer use only, and is generally available between February 1 and April 17.

To use the hotline:

2. Identify yourself as a VRPP volunteer

Do not give this number to taxpayers, do not use it to assist with tax law beyond your level of training, and do not use this hotline to order forms or schedules. Instead, contact your IRS Territory Manager.

	The Volunteer Hotline is part of the IRS's commitment to providing volunteers with ongoing technical assistance. The line is not available to the general public.
