The IRS is not responsible for any errors caused by misuse of this calendar or issues with any calendar application.
Outlook 2003 does not support subscribing to Calendar feeds. This means that changes to the Tax Calendar will not automatically take place. Because of this, the IRS is not responsible for any issues caused by changes to the Tax Calendar after the date which you have downloaded the file. If this is a major concern, please use a calendar application that supports subscriptions to Internet calendars.
Downloading the Calendar Files
In order to add the Tax Calendar to Outlook 2003, you must download the file first.
- In your browser, click on the file you would like to download.
- All Small Business Tax Events
- General Small Business Tax Events
- Employer Small Business Tax Events
- Excise Small Business Tax Events
- A pop-up window will display asking if you would like to open or save the file. Save the file to your computer.
- If you are not prompted to open or save the file and your browser is displaying text, select "File" then "Save As..." and save the file. When saving the file this way, make sure the file extension is ".ics" or the file will not save properly.
Note: Clicking the "Open" button when prompted will not import all of the text events; it will only open the first event. You must save the file and then import to Outlook.
Importing the file to Outlook 2003
Once you have downloaded the file, you will need to import it into Outlook 2003.
- In Outlook 2003 select "File" then "Import and Export..."
- In the new window, Select "Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)" then click "Next"
- Find the Tax Calendar file on your computer and click "OK"
Note:
- In order to remove the Tax Calendar, you must delete each event individually as you would with any event you have personally created.
- This Calendar does not update, so changes to the tax calendar will not be reflected in Outlook 2003.
