What's New for Tax Year 2011 - 1041 e-File

 
  1. The Internal Revenue Service will begin the Business Acceptance Testing System (BATS) for Software Developers and Transmitters on December 5, 2011.

  2. Effective January 23, 2012, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will begin to accept and process Tax Year 2011 Estate and Trust returns electronically. Production filing ends on 10/15/12. (10/20/12 for retransmissions)

  3. Significant changes have been made to the following Forms, Schedules or Publications for Tax Year 2011 (Processing Year 2012):

Schedules: C, C-EZ, E, F, H and Summary Record

Forms: 1116, 3468, 3800, 4684, 5884, 5884-B, 6478, 8082, 8586, 8820 and 8938.

Form 8453-F: The Form 8453-F for the Tax Year 2011 has been revised and can now be used as a transmittal. A checkbox has been added to indicate when the taxpayer is using the form as a transmittal for paper documents. 

The following New Forms have been added to the 1041 e-File Program:

Form 8938 – (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets)

Validation:
New Reject Codes:
041, 149, 273, 411, 456, 457, 463, 464, 520, 521, 523, 524, and 595.

Deleted Rejected Codes: 313, 501, 502, 504, 505, 507, 515, 554, 556, 558, 559, 562, 800 and 817.

There are also significant changes to other reject codes.
