2.3.50  Command Code LVREQ

2.3.50.1  (01-01-2007)
General Information for CC LVREQ

  1. Command Code LVREQ is used by IRS employees to input requests for taxpayer levy information from the FTD and/or RPS II Master Files. Entering LVREQ or LVREQP will display the screen with the appropriate input format.

  2. Data input using CC LVREQ creates a record to be sent to FTD/RPS II levy processing and will be added to the TIF through the TDA Levy processing string.

  3. Data input using CC LVREQ with a definer of "P" directs the levy source information to a paper listing (LVREQ Levy Source Listing) instead of updating the TIF. This LVREQ Levy Source Listing will be distributed per the functional area code and the receiver employee number entered on the request screen. If the receiver employee number on the request line is not entered the program will use the receiver employee number from line 1 (directly after the command code entry field). If the receiver employee number is not entered on line 1, the program will use the employee number from the SIR (Security Information Record).

  4. The various screens associated with Command Code LVREQ are shown in See Exhibit 2.3.50-1through See Exhibit 2.3.50-7.

CC LVREQ Error Responses

  1. A general error message "PLEASE CORRECT INVALID DATA ON SCREEN" will be displayed in inverse video on line 24. All invalid entries will be flagged with an asterisk on the right side of the invalid entry. A descriptive error message will appear on the same line as the invalid entry correction and re-entry is necessary. Valid entries will be written to the GENDATA tape and not returned to the screen.

  2. Error Messages:

    1. "CC-DEFINER INV " —The CC-DEFINER is not blank or P.

    2. "INVALID TIN-FS " —The TIN or FILE SOURCE is not valid.

    3. "INVALID NAME-CONTROL " —The name control is not valid.

    4. "INVALID EMPLOYEE NUMBER" —The employee number is invalid.

    5. "USE X FOR SELECTION ENTRY" —Only X may be used for entry.

    6. "FTD ONLY FOR BMF ACCOUNTS" —FTD information may be requested on BMF accounts only.

    7. "NON-NUMERIC FUNCT AREA CD" —The functional area code that was entered is not numeric.

    8. "ERROR ON WRITE TO GENDATA" —The request has not been written to the GENDATA tape. Please notify CSA.

CC LVREQ Valid Response

  1. If Command Code LVREQ (with a definer of blank, or P) is input correctly, the format for LVREQ will be generated.

  2. If LVREQ or LVREQP data is input correctly, the input screen will be returned with the message " REQUEST COMPLETE" on line 24.
