Collaborations with Other Federal and State Agencies
To incorporate best practices into our SSN elimination and reduction program and to share progress on mitigation strategies, we are engaged with other federal and state government agencies. Collaborative efforts include the Federation of Tax Administrators - IRS Tactical Advisory Group, chartered to address issues of importance to both the states and IRS and coordinates tactical planning for federal/state electronic initiatives (e-initiatives). The TAG meets monthly and provides a means for sharing current IRS initiatives to include the SSN ER initiatives to engage state agencies to ensure smooth transition.
