This site was created to answer general tax questions. This is NOT the site for highly complex tax issues or questions regarding your specific tax account. If you need help with an account issue (i.e., any question that requires a name and social security number), feel free to contact our office by phone. The number for overseas taxpayers is 267-941-1000. Overseas taxpayers may also fax a tax question to 267-941-1055. If you are in Guam, the Bahamas, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico, you can call 800-829-1040.

  1. For privacy and security reasons, we DO NOT handle tax account or refund questions. That is, any question where you need to give us your (or another person's) name, social security number or address.
  2. It is beyond the scope of this assistance to provide legal opinions, private letter rulings, determinations of taxability, or answers to highly complex questions.

  4. If you wish to report information about an individual or company you suspect is not complying with the tax law, complete Form 3949-A (PDF), Information Referral, and mail it or a letter with similar information to Internal Revenue Service, Fresno, CA 93888.
