Update to 2012 Instructions for Form 990-T -- 12-AUG-2013

The following language in the 2012 Instructions for Form 990-T is no longer applicable.

  • On page 1, under Reminder Do Not Include Social Security Numbers on Publicly Disclosed Forms, “By law, with limited exceptions, the IRS has no authority to remove that information before making the form publicly available.”
  • On page 19, in the caution under Paid Preparer Authorization, “The IRS can not redact the paid preparer's SSN if a SSN is entered on the paid preparer's block.”

These changes are effective immediately.
