Form 5884-B is identified as a historical form and cannot be used with a current year federal tax return.

The form is used for the new hire retention credit which is up to $1,000.00 for each retained worker, but the period for hiring the retained worker has passed. Generally, a retained worker is a qualified employee who began employment with you after February 3, 2010, and before January 1, 2011, and was employed by you for at least 52 consecutive weeks.

The form can only be used by taxpayers filing a late or amended return to the report the credit.
