CCR Notice To Vendors & Contractors

If you have received letters or telephone calls claiming to be from the Department of Transportation and concerning CCR registration, do not respond. Do not provide your DUNS number of trading partner identification number (TPIN). Contact CCR immediately if you feel that your TPIN has been compromised.

Some companies who complied with the fraudulent requests have suffered financial loss. The DOT Office of Inspector General is working with Secret Service to handle these issues. CCR is also aware of the problem.

Section 508

Effective June 25, 2001, the Federal government implemented Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Amendments of 1998 (29 U.S.C §794(d)). Section 508 requires that the Federal government only acquire electronic and information technology goods and services that provide for access by persons with disabilities. In order to assist Requiring Officials and Procurement officials to find accessible products and services, vendors are encouraged to complete the template and add their items to the "Buy Accessible" database. "Buy Accessible" is a partnership between government and industry, the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) is hosting a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template. The template allows vendors who choose to participate, the ability to copy the template and complete it to describe how a particular product or service they offer conforms to Section 508 Access Board standards. This template should be placed on the vendors accessible web site and the link to the template provided to the Buy Accessible database.
