Compliance Campaign Webinar #3

April 18, 2017

Tax Practitioners: Attend Webinar on IRS Compliance Campaigns

The IRS announced today that its Large Business and International Division will participate in the 3rd in a series of webinars to provide tax practitioners with additional information about how its new compliance campaigns will operate.

The IRS is participating in the event, which is hosted by Deloitte. The 75-minute  webinar is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, at 2 p.m. EDT. Those interested in attending can register with Deloitte.

The webinar will focus on three compliance campaigns:

  • Deferred Variable Annuity

  • Micro Captive Insurance

  • Basket Transactions

Kathy Robbins, director of the Enterprise Activities Practice Area; Gloria Sullivan, director of Financial Institutions and Products in the EA Practice Area; and Barbara Harris, director of the Northeastern Compliance Practice Area, will conduct this webinar.

The webinar is one of a series in which the IRS is working with various stakeholders to discuss the 13 compliance campaigns launched on Jan. 31, 2017. Dates and times of additional webinars will be announced in the weeks ahead.

The January launch of 13 compliance campaigns was the culmination of an extensive effort to redefine compliance work and create greater transparency between the IRS and the Large Business and International taxpayer segment. IRS leaders plan to continue discussions with the tax professional community to best meet the needs of the taxpayers and tax administration.

The IRS is moving toward issue-based examinations and a campaign process to allow the division to decide which tax issues require a response while maintaining flexibility on the best steps to achieve compliance.
