MeF 1120/1120F/1120S Stakeholders:
We are providing Tax Year 2016 eXtensible Mark-up Language (XML) Schemas and Business Rules for the following forms that include new tax year form(s) and tax law changes.
Included in the 2016v2.0 Schema package are "DIFF" files which identify the difference between the 2016v1.0 Schema package and the 2016v2.0 Schema package. The XML standardization was applied and are available for program planning purposes. These Schemas and Business Rules will not be used in ATS or Production.
Form 1120 Schemas and Business Rules are available to Authorized Users listed on e-File applications for Transmitters, Software Developers and States. Please contact the MeF Mailbox with the Company Name, your Authorized User role and ETIN to request the Tax Year 2016 Schemas and Business Rules.
For the 1120 XML Schemas, the Instance Document contained in the schema files is viewable with any generic Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) reader. See the 1120 "Instance Document" for a sample of 1120 transmission.
Business Rules are posted in two different formats which contain identical information – Adobe (PDF) and a comma-separated file (CSV). A column within the file identifies changes made from the previous version.
If you have any questions about the Schemas or Business Rules, please send your inquiry to the MeF Mailbox.
