Clarifying Changes for User Fee Waivers and Reimbursements in the Instructions for Form 9465

If you viewed or downloaded the Instructions for Form 9465 before April 11, 2018, please take note of the following clarifications.

The language describing the procedures for installment agreement user fee waivers and reimbursements for low-income taxpayers in the sections entitled "What's New," "Reduced installment agreement user fee," and "User fee waivers and reimbursements" has been slightly modified. Also, language has been added to the section entitled, "Requests to modify or terminate an installment agreement," stating that the IRS may waive or reimburse installment agreement user fees for low-income taxpayers if certain conditions are met.

If you viewed or downloaded the instructions before March 14, 2018, also look at the recent development, "Modification of User Fee Requirements for Low-Income Taxpayers" dated 14-MAR-2018.
