Our third-party verification initiative is one of our newer efforts to keep your tax account information safe.


What you need to do

  • Review the letter and check the box that describes your situation.
  • Return it by mail or fax within 30 days. If you prefer to fax, fax your information to the fax number in the notice using either a fax machine or an online fax service. Protect yourself when sending digital data by understanding the fax service’s privacy and security policies.
  • We’ll consider your account verified when we receive your response.
