IRS, Security Summit Partners Expand Identity Theft Safeguards, Build on Successes

The IRS, state tax agencies and industry partners announced plans to improve identity theft protections for individual and business taxpayers after significant inroads in 2016 against fraudulent returns. The collective efforts of the Security Summit initiative have led to a marked improvement in the battle against identity theft.
