(ASL) - YouTube video text script - IRS Commissioner: What the IRS is Doing to Educate and Inform
Hi, I’m John Koskinen. I'm commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, and I’m here today to talk with you about the Affordable Care Act.
The IRS is getting the word out about the Affordable Care Act to people in a number of different ways.
We've established a special section on our website at irs.gov/aca, also available in Spanish, which provides information about the basics of the Affordable Care Act and its impact on taxpayers.
We also are developing health care tax tips, which we're providing and updating on a regular basis, which in plain language give information to taxpayers about the act.
We're also using social media, like this YouTube video, as well as Twitter and Tumblr, to get updates out to people about the act and how it affects them.
We're also working with organizations and partnerships, like our working relationship with tax preparers, providing them with publications and products.
And we're participating in webinars, discussing the impact of the Affordable Care Act on taxpayers.
Our website is designed to answer questions for individuals, families, and employers about the implications and the impact of the Affordable Care Act on taxpayers as they file next spring. We think it's the best source of information generally. It has over 12 sets of questions and answers that deal with the basics of the act. It also allows you to connect to other government websites that provide important information about the Affordable Care Act.
Well, I'd just like people to understand we are reaching out to taxpayers to provide them with as much information as we can.
And we encourage them to go to our website, the special page and section we've developed, at irs.gov/aca, where you can find questions and answers, videos, and other information that we think will be helpful.
It's also important if you're interested in more general information to go to the website, HealthCare.gov.
