FATCA Foreign Financial Institution (FFI) List Search and Download Tool

Due to the United States federal holidays in December, the closing date for Financial Institution registration approval and listing on the January 2015 FFI List is December 23rd.

We expanded the length of the FI name field from 40 characters to 150 characters, and you may now use the following special characters in the name: brackets []; curly brackets {}, and parenthesis ().


You can use the Search and Download Tool to find out if Foreign Financial Institutions (FFIs) have registered with FATCA. You can download the entire list of Financial Institutions or search for a specific one. Important information about the FFI list and its use, including the determination of whether you need to withhold on payments to an FFI, can be found here.

What is it?


A list of Financial Institutions registered, accepted, and assigned a Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN) in accordance with FATCA regulations.



What does it do?


It can download the entire list of Financial Institutions or search for a particular one by its legal name, Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN), or country.
