For more than 20 years, the NYSSCPA's Committee has worked with the IRS District and Service offices to resolve issues that arise from tax practitioners servicing their client taxpayers. This conference provides a face-to-face opportunity for the CPA profession and the IRS to meet and solve issues of importance to taxpayers. This historical relationship between the NYSSCPA's and the IRS has resulted in improved communications and effective resolutions of issues raised by the taxpaying community.

The NYSSCPA’s IRS Relations Committee and the IRS annually conduct this full day, in-person Practice and Procedure Conference to discuss current federal issues and hot topics, related to procedural and practice issues critical to the practitioner community. The IRS speakers at this conference represent various functions (e. g. Collection, Examination, Appeals, Office of Chief Counsel, Criminal Investigation and Taxpayer Advocate Service), depending on the topic being presented.
