IRS Accepting Applications for the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC)
The Internal Revenue Service will accept applications for the ETAAC beginning April 13, 2015 through May 22, 2015. ETAAC provides continued input into the development and implementation of the agency’s strategy for electronic tax administration as well as to provide an organized public forum for the discussion of issues in electronic tax administration. All applicants must complete and submit an application, a tax check waiver form, and a resume.

The Internal Revenue Service announced that some suspended or disbarred tax professionals are now permitted to obtain or renew preparer tax identification numbers (PTIN) and may prepare federal tax returns for compensation as a result of a recent court decision.

Annual Filing Season Program
This new program aims to recognize the efforts of non-credentialed return preparers who aspire to a higher level of professionalism. Meet the requirements by obtaining 18 hours of continuing education, including a six hour federal tax law refresher course with test, and you will receive an Annual Filing Season Program – Record of Completion from the IRS.
