The Tax Professional Management Office oversees programs that support federal tax return preparers and practitioners through preparer identification, administering federal tax credentials such as the Enrolled Agent program, and oversight of standards of practice. These programs promote professionalism, education, and compliance within the tax preparation industry while helping to strengthen taxpayer confidence in the fair administration of the tax system.
