• The Registration System displays FATCA IDs in upper case letters only; however, if you have letters in your FATCA ID, the system will accept in either uppercase or lowercase when logging on.

  • Note that the letter O is not used in the FATCA ID. If you see what appears to be an O, it should be entered as the number zero.

  • Login credentials are shared by the Responsible Officer and up to five Points of Contact.  Only one person can access the FATCA Account at a time.

    • If someone else is logged into the account, you will receive the message “The FATCA ID is locked because the FI registration is being edited by another User with the same FATCA ID.”

    • You may also receive this message if the session timed out while using the application, if you lost Internet connectivity, or if you closed your browser without clicking on the logout button. Allow the system time to clear the lock and try again later.

  • Member Financial Institution:  If you are a member Financial Institution, enter the complete 12 character FATCA ID, including the period.

If you do not know your FATCA ID:

  • Login credentials can be shared by the Responsible Officer and up to five Points of Contact. You must be one of these authorized contacts to access the system. If you do not know the FATCA ID and are the RO or POC for the FI account, contact the Responsible Officer or one of the Points of Contacts for FATCA ID.

  • Single, Lead, or Sponsoring Entity Financial Institutions - Contact your Responsible Officer or Points of Contact to obtain your FATCA ID.

  • Member Financial Institutions - Contact your Lead financial institution Responsible Officer or Points of Contact to obtain your FATCA ID.

  • Further assistance is available if needed by clicking on the Forgot FATCA ID or Access Code.

If you do not know your Access Code:

  • Login credentials can be shared by the Responsible Officer and up to five Points of Contact.  You must be one of these authorized contacts to access the system. If you do not know the FATCA ID and are the RO or POC for the FI account, contact the Responsible Officer or one of the Points of Contacts for the access code.

  • Self Reset - First, check with one of the other authorized contacts to provide the access code.  If they are not available, you can reset the access code by answering the challenge questions provided during registration. Once you have created a new access code, notify the Responsible Officer and other Points of Contact that the access code was changed.

  • Member - If you have not logged in to the system, contact your Lead financial institution Responsible Officer or Points of Contact to obtain the initial temporary access code. If you have logged into your account, follow the self reset instructions above for resetting your access code.

  • Further assistance is available if needed by clicking on the Forgot FATCA ID or Access Code link on the login page.

If you mailed a paper registration form (Form 8957):

  • Single, Lead, or Sponsoring Entity Financial Institutions - If you submitted a paper registration form, your login credentials will be sent via mail, once the registration is processed.  You will not be able to access the online registration system until you receive your login credentials.

  • For Lead FIs, you must log in after receiving your login credentials, and enter your Member information in part 2 of the online registration form to obtain the FATCA IDs and Temporary Access Codes for your Member financial institutions.
