It is preferred that an Information Provider/Transmitter with multiple terminals (reports) submit one LOA containing a list of all of their terminals to be included in a single EDI transmission. It is recommended that the sender ID (ISA06) for these transmissions be the FEIN. The Information Provider/Transmitter must also provide in the LOA the Application Sender Code (GS02) associated with this sender ID (ISA06). If a terminal is added or deleted, the Information Provider must submit a revised LOA with a revised list of terminals.

Alternately, an Information Provider may submit one LOA with multiple sender IDs (ISA06), one for each terminal. It is recommended that the sender ID (ISA06) be the nine character TCN with six trailing spaces. The Information Provider/Transmitter must also provide in the LOA the Application Sender Code (GS02) associated with each sender ID (ISA06).

A third filing option is to submit one LOA and group terminals for EDI transmission Companies with multiple terminal groups (e.g., geographic region groups, accounting system groups) can submit one EDI transmission per identified group. The sender ID (ISA06) must be unique for each individual group. This sender ID (ISA06) must contain 15 alpha-numeric characters as defined by ANSI ASC X12. The Information Provider/Transmitter must also provide in the LOA the Application Sender Code (GS02) associated with this sender ID (ISA06).

The ExSTARS system will accept only one original filing per month from each sender ID (FEIN, TCN, or unique sender ID as identified in the LOA). Monthly filings not matching the LOA will be rejected for that terminal filing.
