ITG FAQ #2 Answer - Are any per capita distributions exempt from federal income taxation?

Yes, distributions of principal and interest made from land claims settlements or judgment funds that are held in trust by the Secretary of the Interior are not subject to taxation. Certain per capita distributions made pursuant to the Per Capita Act are also exempt.
