You can get help with your application for an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) at some IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers.
A Taxpayer Assistance Center with ITIN services can:
- Review your completed Form W-7
- Authenticate most supporting documents*
- Return authenticated documents at the end of the appointment
- Mail your ITIN application package for processing
*Taxpayer Assistance Centers can authenticate all documents for ITIN applicants who appear in person, except for school and medical records for dependents. These must be mailed with the ITIN application package.
