YouTube - Do more with Tax Pro Account: Link Your Business CAF

Are you still relying on phone calls, faxes and spreadsheets to manage client authorizations? There's a better way. Link your business Centralized Authorization File, or CAF number in your IRS Tax Pro Account.

Start by linking your CAF to your employer identification number. This is a one-time process that your firm's designated business official or sole proprietor can do.

Once the CAF number is linked, your firm can:

  • See every active authorization recorded on your CAF including authorizations submitted by form
  • Withdraw from any active authorization in real time
  • View client tax information — like balance due, payment activity, and audit status
  • Make payments on behalf of clients
  • Plus, you can add and remove authorized users, controlling who acts under your business CAF.

Once authorized users are added, they can sign in to their own Tax Pro Account to view client information, make payments and manage the firm's active authorizations.

If you haven’t linked your CAF number, sign in to Tax Pro Account and select "Link a CAF number" from the homepage, or under Profile.

Unsure if your business CAF number is already linked? The Profile page also shows your linked CAF numbers.
