Review the bank routing number entered for direct deposit or payment.

The routing number must follow the banking industry routing number rules. If the number does not meet these rules, it cannot be accepted.

How to fix the error

• Check the routing number on your check, bank statement, or bank's website.
• Make sure all digits are entered correctly, with no missing or extra numbers.
• Re-enter the routing number exactly as provided by your bank.

After making the correction, resubmit your return.
