Changes to the 2026 Forms W-2, W-2AS, W-2GU, and W-2VI posted on IRS.gov

The 2026 Forms W-2, W-2AS, W-2GU, and W-2VI posted to IRS.gov in January 2026 have been revised to a two-per-page format that matches the official printed IRS forms. There is no operational impact, and no other changes were made. 

The change was made to ease the burden for those completing and filing Copies 1, B, C, and 2 available on IRS.gov. You may continue to use forms that were downloaded before Aug. 4, 2026.

Caution: Copy A of this form is provided for informational purposes only. Although Copy A appears in red, similar to the official IRS form, it does not meet SSA’s requirements for scanning and processing. 

Do not print and file Copy A downloaded from www.irs.gov with the SSA. You may be charged a penalty if you file forms that can’t be scanned.
