Options for Paying Your Federal Taxes - YouTube video text script

There are several easy ways to pay your taxes.

First, start by heading over to irs.gov/payments.

You can pay online, by phone or using your mobile device and the IRS2Go app.

You can also mail a check or money order or pay with cash at a retail partner.

One way to pay online is by using your IRS Online Account at irs.gov/account and making a same-day payment from your checking or savings account.

If you don't have an existing IRS Online Account, registration is required.

You'll need your photo ID handy.

Another easy way to pay is with IRS Direct Pay, available only at irs.gov/directpay.

With Direct Pay, you can make a payment directly from your savings or checking account.

For Direct Pay, you don't need to register.

You can also schedule future payments, which may be helpful if you pay estimated taxes.

At irs.gov/payments, you can pay by debit card, credit card or with a digital wallet online. With this option the payment service provider will charge an additional fee.

If you file your own tax return online, you can schedule a payment through your tax preparation software.

If you use a tax professional, you can ask them to schedule a payment for you when they file your return.

Another way to pay is by phone. For a fee, you can call a debit or credit card service provider that works with the IRS.

You can also pay cash in person at one of our retail partners. To do this, go to irs.gov/paywithcash for instructions.

Finally, if you pay by check or money order, make sure it's payable to the United States Treasury and be sure you mail it to the correct address.
