Exempt Organizations Annual Reporting Requirements - Form 990, Schedules A and B: Purpose of Schedule A

What is the purpose of Schedule A, Form 990?

Schedule A requires certain information regarding the organization’s public charity status.  Part I must be filled out by all public charities.  Parts II and III require public support information for public charities whose status depends on their amount of public support (organizations described in Internal Revenue Code sections 170(b)(1)(A)(iv), 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and 509(a)(2)).
