You may be one of the many New York City residents receiving a letter from the New York City Department of Finance about the 2022 Earned Income Tax Credit.
Don't ignore it
You could receive up to $6,935 from the IRS. You must reply with the information asked for in the letter to get it. Follow the instructions or find out how to get help to complete the worksheets.
Based on these worksheets, you may qualify for the 2022 state and city credits. If you qualify for these credits, the State Department of Taxation and Finance will mail the New York state and city EITC checks to you after you reply to the IRS.
Hurry, you only have until April 15, 2026, to send in the worksheets.
