What this notice is about

We have important information about your child's adoption taxpayer identification number (ATIN). We approved your request for a one-year extension.


What you need to do

  • Complete Form 15101, Provide a Social Security Number (SSN) for Adoptive Child PDF, included with your notice when you receive an SSN for your child.

  • You can send us your information using the Document Upload Tool. To use the tool, visit IRS.gov/dutreply, or:

How long is an ATIN extension valid?
