What you can do to help
Complete Form 15106, Request for Updated Taxpayer Information, included with your notice and return it using the envelope provided. If you prefer to speak with us, you can call the number on your notice. Please respond either by mail or phone within 10 days from the date of your notice.
What you need to know
We’re required by law to maintain a list of third-party contacts. In some cases, we’re required to provide this to the individual the information you provided is related to. If you don’t want to be on this list, call us at the phone number on your notice.

- You can authorize someone to contact the IRS on your behalf.

- If you can’t find what you need online, call the IRS number on your notice or letter. If you didn’t receive a letter or notice, use telephone assistance.
- If you can't resolve the penalty on your own, contact Taxpayer Advocate Service, an independent organization within IRS.
