Application Program Interface (API)

New Sign-In Options Now Available

E-Services transitioned to a new sign-in system that requires new users to register or sign in with, the current IRS credential service provider.

Existing e-Services users may continue to sign in with an active IRS username and don’t need to take any action at this time.

E-Services applications will prompt all users to accept the terms of agreement the first time signing in after July 24, 2022.

The Application Program Interface (API) provides a Client ID for firms/organizations creating a software package to communicate directly with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for scripting the e-Services products below.

  • TIN Matching
  • Transcript Delivery System
  • Secure Object Repository

e-Services product users wanting to use API, must complete the API Client ID Application and have a Client ID issued to the firm/organization.

In order to start the process you must contact the Help Desk at 866-255-0654 to obtain the User Guides that explains the software requirements.
