The Income Verification Express Service (IVES) program lets participants, mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions and others, request taxpayer authorization for the IRS to provide tax transcripts and wage statements in the loan application process.

How it works
To participate in the IVES program, companies may:
- Apply to enroll as an IVES participant.
- Request transcripts online or by fax with Form 4506-C, IVES Request for Transcript of Tax Return PDF. A $4 fee is required for each transcript requested.
- Receive transcripts through a WebUI account or secure mailbox.
Request transcripts online
IVES now provides transcripts in near real-time with taxpayer authorization through their online account. With two online options, IVES participants can choose an avenue that works best for their company model. These updates to IVES are in response to the Taxpayer First Act.

Use the web user interface (WebUI)
Submit single requests to a taxpayer's online account.
Before you start
You'll need:
- IVES participant ID number (ten digits including leading zeroes)
- IVES participant SOR mailbox and contact information
- Client company contact information
- Notification to the taxpayer for authorization
Use IVES Application to Application (A2A)
A2A is for large volume filing and typically used by software developers and transmitters.
The Taxpayer First Act Application Program Interface (API) test environment is opened for IVES Participant testing.

The legacy faxing option is available with a 2-3 business day processing time.
