Hive@central: IRS Series - Small Business Taxes and Tax Forms -  Lesson 2

This workshop will provide an overview of Form 1040, Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business, and discuss how to calculate gross profit and gross income. We’ll show you how to identify and deduct expenses, as well, discuss how to calculate net profit or loss and discuss which schedules to file. Also, some areas on Form 1040 will be highlighted, US Individual Income Tax Return, that may be of interest to small business owners and a discussion on self-employment tax and estimated tax. Tax Tips for Starting and Operating a Business

Avoid future headaches and costs by learning about the basics of federal taxes. Join us for a 3 hour seminar that will cover tax topics that range from setting up and registering with the IRS when you start a business, operating a business, reporting throughout the year and a wide range of  IRS and other federal resources. IRS is providing material for this event. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be a short break in between each section of the seminar. Registration is required and starts August 1st.  There is no fee to join.
