The First Steps to Starting a Business

This three-hour class provides a quick overview of the critical first steps needed to start a business. It is designed specifically for those who are thinking about a new business venture. Participants will assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements and identify sources of funding. The IRS is providing educational information and products for this class. Cost: $75/scholarships available. Any fees charged by the sponsoring institution are exclusive of the Internal Revenue Service. There is no charge by the IRS for this event.

SCORE - How to Start and Manage Your Own Business

Get a practical review of what it takes to start your own business. In this one day workshop you will learn about taxes, legal structures, developing a business plan, marketing, financing and financial planning, technology, and licenses. Volunteers of the SCORE Association are conducting this one-day seminar and the IRS is providing educational materials that SCORE will utilize. The cost for this and all SCORE Seminars is $60 for Prepaid Registration and includes seminar materials. Fontbonne Students are FREE with Student ID and Veterans are FREE with Veteran’s ID. The cost is $70 at-the-door and is subject to availability. Any fees charged by the sponsoring institution are exclusive of the Internal Revenue Service. There is no charge by the IRS for this event.
