5 Simple Steps for Starting Your Business

This five-part, hands-on workshop series can help you turn your idea into actions with tools, templates and personalized advice from SCORE mentors. This is a perfect way to take your business from concept to reality. This series is perfect for startups, existing small businesses and non-profits. Attendees will work with SCORE instructors and mentors on developing personalized business plans.

  • Define your business idea and market test the concept
  • Interact with entrepreneur peers and SCORE mentors
  • Think through opportunities and identify the best path
  • Learn the how to of business start-up
  • Assess the feasibility of your business idea
  • Develop a preliminary business plan
  • Interact with the SBA, Small Business Development Centers and banks

These workshops also offer an opportunity to interact with other local business owners. In partnership with SCORE, IRS Stakeholder Liaison is providing small business tax materials as part of the resources available to workshop participants free of charge. It is important to attend all five workshops in order to progress to a final business plan.

How to Start Your Business

These Business Information Seminars, offered by Cleveland SCORE, provide an overview of their services to individuals who are planning a startup business as well as people that have an existing business and who are looking for ways to improve their cash flow, revitalize their marketing programs and other ways to improve revenue.
