Use of third-party transmitters

If you use a third party’s software to prepare your ExSTARS reports, you must go through testing

Each Information Provider must test in version 4030 before going into production whether or not they use third party software to prepare/transmit reports. In addition, you must verify that your third party software provider’s latest patch/release has been tested and approved before submitting with those changes.  Verify the latest approved third party software version on the Approved excise transmitters and software developers webpage.

If your third-party transmitter has released a new patch/version of its software you do not have to re-test

The Transmitter is required to test each new release. The latest version release (patch) approved for each Approved Excise Tax Transmitter is published on the Approved excise transmitters and software developers webpage.
